Temperatures crossed the 40 degrees Celsius- mark across London and other parts of United Kingdom in July.
In 1913, temperatures hit 56.7 degrees Celsius in Death Valley, according to World Meteorological Organization’s Global Weather & Climate Extremes Archive.

An uninhabited desert plateau, Dasht-e-Lut has the hottest ground temperatures on Earth. Measurements taken between 2003 to 2009 found temperatures to be as high as 70.7 degrees Celsius.
A remote area of northwest Kuwait, Mitribah hit a sweltering temperature of 53.9 degrees Celsius in 2016, the highest ever recorded in the region.
In Jacobabad, temperatures in 2022 hit the 51 degrees Celsius mark, making it the hottest place on the planet this year.
